Catania, Italy

Catania is an Italian port city, located on the east coast of Sicily and is the most prosperous city on the island during the Roman Empire. Catania was destroyed by the earthquake in 1693 and rebuilt in the 18th century. It has excellent beaches nearby and is a winter resort.
