Baghdad is on the banks of the Tigris river. The Tigris River is a famous river in the Middle East and originates from the mountains of Anatolia, Turkey. The Bible is the earliest reference to the Tigris River. In the second chapter of Genesis, it is mentioned that this river is one of the four rivers that flow through Eden.
