Ales is a town in California, Languedoc-Luciyon district, southern France. It is an important mining center, a famous Ales Institute of Mining, and an important raw silk market in southern France. Among the many famous buildings in Ales, the Alai Cathedral in the 18th century was a Roman Catholic church and a well-known historical relic in France; there were museums displaying the history of Ales's mining industry, as well as other museums with rich archaeological and artistic collections.

Ales Mining School was founded in 1843. Historically,Ales is an important coal mine producing area in France. Ales Mining School, formerly a college of mining engineers, mainly trains and transports senior engineers for the coal industry. Ales Mining School has changed from a specialized school in the mining industry to a multidisciplinary Institute of engineers with international influence. It is a famous national school in France.
