Chongming County is affiliated to Shanghai and consists of three islands: Chongming, Changxing and Hengsha. It is known as “Gateway to the Changjiang River and Yingzhou of the East China Sea”. The agriculture of Chongming County was mainly based on the production of grain, cotton and beans. After Liberation, rice, wheat, corn, cotton and rape have been the main crops.
